Auf der Website heißt es:
The Committee for Kalachakra for World Peace in
Graz recently awarded Norbulingka Institute the honor of creating a statue
of Kalachakra Yab Yum for the 2002 ceremony. The life-size, 24-armed statue
will be the same height as His holiness the 14th Dalai Lama. There are only
two such statues worldwide. One is currently in Tibet and the other in New
York, which was also handcrafted by Norbulingka. It is considered quite
auspicious to have another statue in Europe to complete the triangular
position of these statues around the globe for world peace.
Bemerkenswert scheint mir, ist
nicht nur die Tatsache, dass die Figur lebensgroß ist, wo unser Bild
tibetisch-buddhistischer Kunst doch vor allem von den
"Miniaturen" des Kunst- und Devotionalienmarktes geprägt ist,
sondern auch dieselbe Größe wie der Dalai Lama hat, so dass sie sich
gewissermaßen dreidimensional spiegeln, sie einander Alter Ego sind.
